Our Farms
Mclean Organic Foods' farms are primarily family operated businesses, run by people who nurture their animals and their land, and who believe in the philosophy of producing meat naturally.
Farms are also hand selected by owners Garth Mclean and Michelle Neilson and are inspected to ensure they are in compliance with Certified Organic standards for farming, land quality, feed, and handling (recognized by international organic accreditation agencies). Under Mclean's meat purchasing program, all farms must be Certified Organic and be audited by an acredited certifying body at least once per year. In addition, slaughter facilities must undergo a 3rd party Food Safety audit at least once per year and must also be Certified Organic.
Mclean Organic Foods' certified organic turkeys and chickens are raised on sustainable land with farming practices that are designed to ensure the least possible residues of pesticides and the lowest possible level. They consume only 100% certified organic feed and are non-medicated.
Mclean Organic Foods' certified organic hogs eat only certified organic feed and are non-medicated.
Mclean Organic Foods' certified organic cows consume 100% organically grown feed, free from animal bi-products, growth producing hormones or antibiotics.
All organically raised cattle must have access to pasture, exercise areas, outdoors, fresh air and direct sunlight.
